Betsy Ross is said to have sewn the first flag of the United States of America in 1776 - with 13 stars and 13 stripes, each representing one of the 13 colonies. George Washington, George Ross and Robert Morris from the Continental Congress supposedly paid Betsy Ross a visit in June 1776 and showed her an initial flag design that George Washington had drawn in pencil. Ross and Washington knew each other from attending church together and Ross had already sewn buttons for George Washington. The design was slightly modified and then supposedly sewn by Betsy Ross in her living room. The first national flag of the USA after the Declaration of Independence is therefore also known today as the Betsy Ross Flag.
The three-layer cotton blanket is made of 100% cotton and is therefore particularly easy to care for.
