A Sunday breakfast with pancakes and delicious maple syrup, a barbecue evening with juicy burgers and the best sauces, a cozy winter day with the pleasant smell of scented candles in the air or a warm summer morning on the terrace in a rocking chair... All of this is pure American joie de vivre that we want to bring into your home.

My name is Sabine Ryan – I am the founder and managing director of American Heritage . For many years I have painstakingly brought beautiful things for myself and gifts for friends from the USA to Germany. My suitcase was often overweight – and some things just wouldn’t fit in it. My green rocking chair is one such example. I fell in love with it immediately. It just had to come with me to Germany. By plane? No chance. And because it was too big to fit, no parcel service would send the chair to Germany. So the idea was born to import not just this one rocking chair, but many of them by ship and sell them in Germany. First at trade fairs and then in our own shop. The ideas for the rest of the first range came from our own household – from candles and baking tins to barbecue accessories, maple syrup and home decor. We filled a container and in 2005 our first shop opened in Augsburg’s old town. It was the start of something very special. Other shops followed in Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Stuttgart. We even grew beyond the country's borders and opened a store in Salzburg.

American Heritage is my personal American dream come true – even if importing is sometimes more like an American nightmare. Delivery bottlenecks, punitive tariffs, quality controls, regulations and food inspections are just a few keywords that describe how complex the import process is. Many years of experience – and probably also a few hard lessons learned – have made us very strong in this area. We have the know-how and know what is important when importing. That is why we decided to significantly expand our online business with Europe-wide shipping and to supply a limited number of wholesalers with our selected products. However, we did not want to say goodbye to stationary retail completely. Because the direct line to our customers, friends and companions is very important to us. That is why we still have a shop in Augsburg's Martinipark. You almost feel like you are in the New York borough of Brooklyn. Industrial style in a brick building with meter-high ceilings and huge windows. There and online we sell our delicatessen items from American family businesses such as Stonewall Kitchen, Rufus Teague, Crown Maple and the special scented candles from Kringle Candle and Country Candle, which we offer exclusively in some European countries. I always decide personally which products are included in the range. Not only the quality, but also the philosophy of the suppliers plays a big role for me. I know them all personally and get an idea of ​​their work on site. This is an important part of American Heritage's corporate culture. We are passionate about all of our products - and that is exactly what we want you to feel as our customers.

Our passion for a product is so great that we now make it ourselves. In our Augsburg popcorn factory, Everly Grace , we conjure up delicious popcorn using our unique recipes. From Raspberry Drizzle to Caramel & Sea Salt Sensation to Pumpkin Spice Perfection - all of our varieties are freshly created for our customers using high-quality, natural ingredients without artificial coloring. The joy of developing new, creative recipes and receiving enthusiastic feedback from our customers is a special motivation!

By the way... the green rocking chair that started it all still exists today. Not only is it immortalized in the American Heritage logo , but it still has a place of honor in my home.
