The story of Dean's Shortbread begins in Helen Dean's kitchen in 1975. Her husband was so impressed by her homemade shortbread that he decided to use the proceeds to fund his local marching band. Thanks to the band's tours throughout England, Helen's baking skills soon became widely known. It wasn't long before she had to move from her kitchen to her own bakery in the village to meet customer demand. When even that proved insufficient, a large-scale bakery was built on the outskirts of the village in 1992. Since then, it has been supplying sweet tooths internationally with biscuits and other delicacies made according to Helen's original shortbread recipe. Tradition is paramount at Dean's, and the company remains family-owned, producing classic British treats with meticulous care and attention to detail to ensure the highest quality.
Dean's is collaborating with Scottish artist Steven Brown on the high-quality tins.
