Milk Paint (also known as Shaker Paint ) is still produced today using casein-based methods . It comes as a powder and is mixed with water in a ratio of approximately 1:1 . Adding a little more water will result in a more transparent color.
The magnificent, historical colors delight restorers, furniture makers, and hobbyists worldwide. With Milk Paint, you can also create a vintage or shabby chic look using simple tools.
The colors can be mixed easily and quickly, even with Snow White . This allows you to create countless tones and shades. Allergy sufferers especially love the natural, compostable paint.
Please note: Generally , only mix as much color powder with water as needed, as the mixed color can only be used for a maximum of two days . Any unused color powder, however, can be stored for many years .
One packet of Milk Paint contains 1 pint or 170g of powder. With a normal mix, this yields approximately 0.5 liters of paint and is sufficient for about 3 square meters.
