It all began in 1968 with a crayon – from which Michael Kittredge drew his first candle, which he gave to his mother for Christmas. Shortly afterward, he founded the well-known Yankee Candle Company, which he later sold for health reasons. In 2009, his son, Mick Kittredge, followed in his father's footsteps and founded his own scented candle company: the Kringle Candle Company, also based in New England. After the successful market launch of their white candles, the colorful Country Candles were introduced in 2016.
