For thousands of years, colors have been made from earth and other pigments. Milk paint colors (also known as Shaker colors ) are still made today using casein as the basis of old methods . They come as a powder and are mixed with water in a ratio of about 1:1 . With a little more water, you get a more transparent color.

Please note: Only mix as much color powder with water as is needed, as the color can be used for a maximum of two days once it has been mixed. The color powder that has not been mixed, on the other hand, can be kept for many years .
One packet of Milk Paint contains 1 pint or 170 g of powder. When mixed normally, this yields about 0.5 litres of paint and is enough for about 3 square metres of area.
