Dean's Shortbread's hand-baked Cheddar Cheese Bites are delicious oatmeal nibbles made with extra-mature cheddar for an intensely flavorful treat. The Extra Mature Cheddar & Chilli variety enhances the flavor of the cheesy oatmeal cookies with a spicy hint of fiery chili peppers. The story of Dean's Shortbread began in 1975 in Helen Dean's kitchen with homemade Short Bread. Her husband was so enamored with the sweet shortbread that he decided to fund his local marching band with the sale of the treats. Thanks to the ensemble's tours, Helen's baking skills soon became known throughout the country. So it wasn't long before Helen moved out of her kitchen and into her own bakery in the village. When even this could no longer keep up with the high demand for first-class shortbread, Helen built her own industrial bakery on the outskirts of the village in 1992, which has since been supplying sweet tooths beyond the country's borders with cookies and other delicacies made to Helen's original shortbread recipe. Tradition is a matter of honor, and so the company Dean's Shortbread is still family-owned and produces Helen's treats in elaborate handwork for the highest quality.
