The hand-baked Cheddar Cheese Bites from Dean's Shortbread are delicious oat snacks that become an intensely spicy treat with extra mature cheddar. The Extra Mature Cheddar & Caramelised Red Onion variety refines the taste of the cheesy oat biscuits with aromatic caramelised onion chutney. The little treats are perfect canapés and taste particularly good with a freshly uncorked wine.
The Cheddar Cheese Bites are also available in 3 other spicy variations: pure and refined with chili or black pepper.
The story of Dean's Shortbread began in 1975 in Helen Dean's kitchen with homemade short bread. Her husband was so enthusiastic about the sweet shortbread that he decided to use the sale of the treats to finance his local marching band. Thanks to the ensemble's tours, Helen's baking skills soon became known throughout the country. It wasn't long before Helen moved from her kitchen to her own bakery in the village. When this could no longer keep up with the high demand for first-class shortbread, a large bakery was built on the outskirts of town in 1992, which has since supplied sweet-toothed people beyond the country's borders with biscuits and other delicacies made using Helen's original shortbread recipe. Tradition is a matter of honour and so the Dean's Shortbread company is still family-owned and produces Helen's delicacies with elaborate handcraft for the highest quality.
