At American Heritage, we now have the best new Chocolate Chips in our assortment. To celebrate this joyful occasion, I'm sharing the recipe for the Ryan family's Chocolate Chip Cookies on the blog. I received this recipe during my first trip to the USA many years ago when chocolate chip cookies were still relatively unknown here.
Combine all the dry ingredients for the American Chocolate Chip Cookies in a mixing bowl and mix:- 280g flour (wheat or spelt flour)
- 150g sugar
- 150g brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
Then add the wet ingredients and mix to form a coarse cookie dough.
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp water
- 220g butter
- 1 egg
- 250g Guittard Chocolate Chips (Super Cookie, Semisweet, or Choc-Au-Lait)
Scoop the dough onto parchment paper using small spoons, leaving enough space between each portion. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for 12 minutes. After baking, allow the cookies to cool briefly to firm up. Then, optionally serve with vanilla ice cream and a glass of milk or a cup of hot chocolate. Enjoy!
